The Coco Mat is handmade from coir (the husk of a coconut) from the only organic coir plantation in the world. Because of its excellent breathability babies can easily regulate their temperature whilst they sleep and prevents over heating.
Organic coir is naturally springy and offers excellant support. The coir is wrapped in anti-dust mite lambs wool, treated with lemon, lavender and eucalyptus which renders it dust mite free.
Lambs wool also acts as a soft tufting and is an excellent insulator and ventilator. The mattress is covered in a 100% cotton herringbone cover which is removable and can be washed at 60ºC to kill any bacteria.
This mattress is naturally fire-retardant (BS EN597, BS 7177), no harmful chemicals are used.
