How Women’s Golf Has Grown
Golf has always been a male dominated sport but over the last few years there have been more and more female players and very good players at that, such as Annika Sörenstam, Paula Creamer, Michelle Wie, and Yuri Fudoh. In 2006 the Women’s World Golf Rankings was introduced. They are sanctioned by 5 of the main women’s golf tours and organizations including Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA Tour), Ladies European Tour, Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association of Japan, Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association, and Australian Ladies Professional Golf, and also by the Ladies' Golf Union, which administers the Women's British Open. So as you can see the world of women’s golf has exploded over the last decade.
