The Converse shoe, the Converse All Star "Chuck Taylor”, is the oldest and best selling sport shoe of all time. Converse was first created in 1908, and in 1917 the first version of the All Star basketball shoe was produced. Today there are many different varieties of Converse shoe styles and designs, but back in the day there was only one choice of colour and that was black. So where did the Chuck Taylor part come into it? Chuck Taylor saw the potential of the Converse shoe and in the game of basketball and joined the sales team of Converse. He went all over the U.S promoting the name Converse, the shoe, and the game of basketball. Due to the awareness Chuck had raised the name Converse really took off, and it was then that they decided to put Chuck Taylor’s name onto the ankle patch of the shoe and ever since it has been known as the "Chuck Taylor" All Star basketball shoe.

There is a huge array of Converse shoes available today including the Converse Double Upper Ox shoe which is a very popular design as it features two uppers in different shades, and then you have the All Star Hi shoe which is entirely black. This Converse shoe is very subtle, the Converse logo is barely visible on the black shoe so you can hide the fact you are a label queen and still get the great shape and design. Another type of Converse shoe is the Converse Double Tongue Hi shoe. Just as the name suggests it has two tongues, one of which hangs down. This look goes great with jeans and a t-shirt. Converse has extended their range so much that they now sell their own line of flip flops called the Converse Thong Slip.
