Knee high Boots come in various widths. The wider the Boots the more material you can push into the boot. If you’re wearing the Boots for work then you’ll need the top opening to be wide enough to tuck jeans and work trousers inside the boots. Riding Boots are tailored to the leg and it would be a nuisance to have too much spare material rubbing against horse and rider.
Some mid high boots, especially cowboy or western boots have pulls. These are pieces of leather or synthetic fabric that is sewn into the top of the boots so you can easily pull them on. Sometimes after a hard day’s work or a long hike you may need a friend or partner to pull them off, especially when you really don’t have the energy to pull them off yourself!
Wellingtons don’t normally have pulls. But you can buy a boot scraper that will sit outside your back door you can use to scrape all the mud off your boots or wellington boots. The boot scraper will be shaped so you can hook your boots in the gap and then pull your foot out from the boots. Wellington boots have undergone a major transformation in the fashion world over the last decade or so and are now available in an enormous amount of colours and patterns. We can now have more than one pair of wellington boots in our wardrobe in fun colours. They are fantastic boots to have for the winter and can be worn in rain, snow or ice to keep your feet warm and dry. Wellingtons have become a fashion item and not just a necessity for rainy weather. Check your Wellingtons’ grip from time to time to make sure that when the icy weather arrives the boots have a good grip so you won’t slide all over the place!
