Top 10 Kids Fancy Dress Outfits
All children love dressing up and playing make believe, and they won’t be disappointed in the choice of kids fancy dress costumes. Dressing up outfits can be as simple as a pirate hat and sword, or a full costume with mask and wig and accessories. It’s best to have costumes from different genres to keep your child’s interest in role play.
Most kids fancy dress costumes are based on film or TV characters, or costumes can be seasonal. Halloween is the top dressing up season holiday. Here are a few of the top costumes for children.
Disney fancy dress –Disney fancy dress is colourful, well made and your children will get lots of play value from them. Princess dresses, Pirate Costumes and Toy Story character costumes are favourites.
Halloween – Most kids love the scary costumes, or the pretty angel and princess outfits. Boys’ costumes include ghost costumes, lots of Batman character’ outfits, and zombie robes. Girls’ costumes include bat princesses, pumpkins and little vampires. There are lots of accessories to complete the basic Halloween fancy dress; a favourite is the plastic pumpkin buckets, used to carry all the chocolate goodies in.
Pirate –A top kids fancy dress is the pirate captain or pirate king costume. They’re full of detail and you can accessorise with swords and hats. The girls have an excellent choice of funky or traditional Pirate Costumes with costumes of long or short skirts, blouses and waistcoats.
Fairies – All little girls believe in fairies, so playing dress up with fairy costumes is a well loved pastime. Fairy dresses can be long or short, but they are always made from floaty and delicate material. Children love the wings and fairy wands that go with the outfit.
Angels – Kids’ angel costumes are gorgeous. They include long or short white robes edged with white fur and come with a halo. This is a great Christmas outfit for tiny tots and older children.
Superheroes – These are always top of the list for both boys and girls. Batman, Robin, Supergirl and Wonder Woman are a couple of examples. Materials are bright and shiny and the outfits come with headwear and gloves.
High School Musical – These are perfect costumes for budding artists. There are Troy' costumes for the boys, and Gabriella and Sharpay costumes for the girls. The outfits are shiny, colourful and fun to wear.
Star Wars - If your child is a Star Wars fan, this is the perfect kids fancy dress for him. There are some gorgeous Princess Leia costumes and Jedi robes for the girls, and clone troopers, Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi costumes for the boys.
Animal costumes – These are gorgeous costumes; they are colourful and fabric is soft to the touch. Your child can dress as a Zebra, Giraffe, or Kangaroo. A couple of favourites with children who love fairy stories, are the dragon and crocodile costumes.
Kids Wild West – Wild West costumes are great for dress up or for parties. The kids love the guns and hats that come with the cowgirl and cowboy costumes, and it’s a good theme for a birthday party.
