When it comes to making home made fancy dress costumes a vampire or vampires doesn’t get much easier. The great thing with vampires is that you can add as many touches as you want or you can keep it rather plain and simple and still have the same effect. What do you need exactly to make your own vampire costume? The costume is slightly different for men and women and so the descriptions have been separated.
Mens Vampire Halloween Costume
Most of the items that you will need to dress as a vampire you will already have such as a pair of black trousers or jeans, a white shirt, and a black pair of shoes or trainers. Things you will need to buy or maybe borrow from someone include a cape (long or short), fangs, and face paint or to make it even easier some make up. Slick your hair back with gel, use white face paint or white make up to paint your face, add the fangs, if you have some fake blood you could add it around your mouth but its not vital, throw on the cape and away you go. You can always go as a new age vampire such Edward Cullen from Twilight where you can style your hair a little funkier and wear jeans and a shirt but this may be a little harder to pull off.
Womens Vampire Costume
The ladies version is a little different in that instead of wearing the trousers and shirt wear a tight LBD (little black dress), still include the cape, fangs, and face make up. A great tip is to choose a short cape rather than a long billowing one; you don’t want to hide your gorgeous dress all night now do you. For the make up again paint the face white, add black lip stick and use really dark eye shadow to finish off the look.
