Car Insurance

Car Insurance

Every one knows that the law in the UK dictates that all motor vehicles must have insurance. If you want to own a car and drive it on the roads you need car insurance, plus a host of other bits of paper such as Road Tax, an MOT certificate, a driving licence, registration documents and there are a host of rules that go with them.

This article is dedicated to Car Insurance, we’ll be writing others that will cover motorbike insurance and HGV insurance, but don’t stop reading, a lot of whats true for car insurance is true for most vehicles.

I must stress that I am not a broker or a car insurance specialist or even a car insurance expert, but I have been driving for over thirty five years and owned a car for the same period.

I’ve included some links that if you want expert advice on car insurance and if you are looking for car insurance I strongly recommend using them and getting that expert advice.

So where was I, oh yes, talking about car insurance. There’s basically three types of  car insurance, there’s Third Party, Third Party Fire & Theft and Fully Comprehensive.

Third Party car insurance is the basic cover you must have by law. It’s usually the cheapest cover you can buy but not always and in the long run can, if the worst came to the worst be very expensive as they will only pay out for the other persons damage not yours, so if your car is damaged or you are injured, nada, nothing.

Third Party Fire & Theft car insurance is the same as Third Party car insurance with the added benefit that if your car is stolen they will compensate you. But again, this type of car insurance is to make sure that third parties (other people) that may claim against you are covered.

Fully Comprehensive car insurance, this type of car insurance used to be the bees knees but, they, (they, by the way are car insurance companies), have made it even better by creating Fully Comprehensive car insurance with protected no claims bonus, Fully Comprehensive car insurance with guaranteed no claims bonus and one I especially like - Fully Comprehensive car insurance with guaranteed no claims bonus at a reduced cost for the over fifties.
As the term implies fully comprehensive car insurance covers damage to you, your car, third parties, theft etc. Personally this is the car insurance I’ve always gone for, even as a skint seventeen year old.
Always, always, always, get good advice from the car insurance experts and make sure you’re covered and you have the right car insurance for you.

One other thing, always, always, always, drive safely and stay safe.
